As Einstein’s famous equation suggests, matter and energy are intimately connected. In the Novel Universe Model, energy is the processing of data between interconnected points in space, while matter is a bound pattern of energy – what NUM refers to as an “energy body.” Data processing happens along the Hypergraph as Quantum Transience, and through the Hypersphere, as force vectors. The quantum level of the universe is stitched together through the interactions of fields and waves. Node Point Communicators shape these waves and fields through the trivalent (sticky, slippery, neutral) Quantum Transient Gradient. As energy bodies emerge in levels of complexity from the quantum world to the atomic, molecular, etc., the QT Gradient’s direct effect on the shape of space is increasingly overshadowed by the higher-order effects of force vectors between bodies at scale.

As it is with all emergent objects, Quantum Transience steers energy bodies of complexity in their interactions through cognition, both as Lower-Order Bodies and Higher-Order Conductors. Coordination between the behavior of bodies through communication and cognition is how energy moves and matter forms. The difference between what counts as simple material and emergent mind isn’t a difference of kind, but of perspective. The complexity of a structure’s objectives, preferences, and awareness determines what appears to be simple material at one scale, yet has a clear hierarchy of mind at all other, nested scales. From the bottom-up, cognition directs the patterns of time and energy, while from the top-down, force vectors shape the motion of space and matter. Everything is consciousness, but not every object at every scale has a singular mind. Every bird has a brain, but is a murmuration (a flock flying in unison) a singular mind? Conversely, saying that rock has a mind is highly controversial, but noting the self-guided intelligence of crystal formation isn’t.

The mind-body emergent relationship among all assembled levels of complexity expresses itself through “mophic resonance” – the language of energy, shaping the form of matter. Morphic resonant “dialects” are behavioral models – the shared scripts among common forms for common functions, developed from the interaction of participants. Dialects evolve the way lines evolve into letters, into words, into sentences, into stories – the narrative structure of meaningful conversation. Over time (hours, centuries, eons) dialects become standardized “common sense” solutions to common problems – those “laws of nature” we perceive through the scientific method, and also, those objects, habits, and culture we form as individuals within society.

For instance, atomic dialects have been around from the moment quantum dialects stabilized, giving rise to the chemical process – molecular dialects. With each level of scale stabilizing its dialects (morphology), a higher form of complexity is possible. Self-replicating molecules (DNA) form complex systems (living cells). Cells divide labor into specialized collectives (tissues), operating as a whole (lifeform). Even humans collect into cooperatives to create industry, transportation, entertainment … all the things that make up a functioning town, city, or country. These collectives are higher-order reflections of those healthy cells and tissues, and also, their unhealthy counterpart, cancer. In order to evolve from one level of complexity to another, Signature-Frequency Sets spend lifetimes learning the different dialects of these diverse energy bodies, with greater or lesser success. We incarnate in order to experience novel perspectives, and learn unimaginable things. It is only through these new perspectives that we might acquire new preferences, goals, and priorities – the carnal evolution of our eternal Signature-Frequency Set.

An individual’s ability to proficiently speak the dialect of their energy body constructs their LOB-HOC hierarchy. For instance, a failed pregnancy isn’t a “mistake” of nature, but a learning process for all involved Sets (mother, father, and embryo). The failure occurs, not because of the character of those involved, their situation, or even strictly biological factors, but because participants lack experience, and are likely to succeed if sufficiently determined. Keep trying, keep learning, and with each lifetime, keep evolving. We experience our energy body’s dialect as embodied sensation, largely based on metabolism, emotion, and motion. These sensations arise from our relationship, as a Higher-Order Conductor, with our Lower-Order Bodies.

As we develop our ability to speak our LOB’s dialects, we form an effective relationship with our LOB, leading to a mastery of our bodies, and through such mastery, our lives. However, mastering one’s life is not necessarily mastering one’s journey in life. Sometimes, failure is not a lack of success, but the entire point of life. There are those of us who have come primarily to fail, and through such failures, learn through those precious perspectives. Humility, compassion, reconciliation, grace … just a few of the lessons failure has to teach.

We feel the effectiveness of our body’s fluency as an increase or decrease in energy, both moment-to-moment, and as a trend throughout our lives. Energy is the foundation of emergent complexity – the glue that holds our bodies together. Death, as seen through the Novel Universe Model, isn’t just the disintegration of the body, but the changing relationship of energy throughout the LOB-HOC hierarchy. We die, not simply because of age, but because our preferences and priorities are no longer sufficient to pull us into the future. We’ve met our goals. Without objectives, no system continues forever.
